All applications must be submitted via our online portal. Companies are asked to provide a clear and comprehensive description of their business and their long-term growth plans. In addition, companies applying to Detroit Demo Day will choose one of three funding categories: Start, Sustain, or Build. These categories are based on the company’s revenue, total capital raised, and their plans for continued operations and growth.

The selection process to pitch at Detroit Demo Day consists of several rounds of online application vetting by community partners and Detroit-based business leaders, as well as a potential site visit (pending the most up-to-date health and safety guidelines) from the Quicken Loans Community Fund Entrepreneurship team. These reviewers then narrow down the hundreds of applicants to the top 17 semi-finalists. Pitches and the subsequent evaluation process will take place in a safe, socially-distanced format. These events will be filmed as feature episodes and released to audiences in the Fall of 2020.

A total of 11-14 businesses will receive funding from Rocket Mortgage Detroit Demo Day 2020. Winners will be selected by a panel of diverse and accomplished national entrepreneurs and judged on the same criteria as their online applications.
