How It Works

All applications must be submitted via our online portal. Companies are asked to provide a clear and comprehensive description of their business and market. In addition, companies applying to Detroit Demo Day, should choose one of three Funding Categories: Start, Grow, or Scale. These categories are based on the company’s revenue, market, and whether they are looking to expand locally or nationally.

The selection process to pitch at Detroit Demo Day consist of an online application review and potential site visit conducted by the Quicken Loans Community Fund Entrepreneurship team, community partners, and Detroit-based business leaders. These groups narrow the hundreds of applications down to the top 15 companies, who present a 90-second business pitch at Detroit Demo Day on Friday, June 14th.

A total of seven winners who will receive funding from Quicken Loans Detroit Demo Day. Six businesses pitch in both the Start and Grow categories, and there are three winners per category. Three businesses will pitch in the Scale category which has one winner. Winners will be selected by a panel of diverse and accomplished national entrepreneurs and judged on the same criteria as the online applications.
